Cities Report Surge in Foreign Arrivals in H1

On July 1st, reporters learned from the Baiyun Immigration Inspection Station that over 2.06 million foreign nationals passed through Guangzhou Baiyun Airport in the first half of this year (as of June 30th, 12 PM), marking a 182.1% year-on-year increase. “Among them, travelers from Malaysia, South Korea, and the United States ranked in the top three, with visitors from New Zealand, Australia, and Poland also showing growth.”

In the first half of this year, Chongqing Immigration Inspection Station processed over 150,000 foreign arrivals and departures, a 4.9-fold increase compared to the same period last year. Nearly 40,000 of these were visa-exempt entries. The countries with the highest number of foreign arrivals at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport were Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam.

Shanghai Airport Immigration Inspection Station said that as of June 16th, over 3 million foreign travelers had passed through Pudong International Airport this year, a 240% increase compared to the same period last year. The top three nationalities were American, Japanese, and South Korean.
